As long as there have been empires, there has been the baklava; a deliciously decadent dessert made of layers of filo, chopped nuts, and syrup. It has been a staple of Middle Eastern and North African Cuisine, and is beloved in its many forms, from the very shape of the desert to its variant fillings. But ask anyone, and they will tell you, not all baklava is created equal.
